Wendy Powell is a former federal prosecutor who began her legal career with clerkships for now-District Court Judge Joan M. Azrack in the Eastern District of New York, the late Harold A. Ackerman in the District of New Jersey, and Maryanne Trump Barry on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Powell was also an associate in the Government Enforcement and White Collar Crime Group at Skadden.
With over 25 years of experience litigating complex commercial and criminal matters, Ms. Powell is adept at representing individuals and corporate entities in connection with complex civil cases, government investigations, enforcement actions, internal investigations, and white collar criminal prosecutions. Ms. Powell has been involved in numerous significant matters in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, insurance, mining, and financial services. She also has significant experience representing individuals involved in cross-border investigations such as Dieselgate, the manipulation of the LIBOR Rate, and bribery of foreign officials in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Ms. Powell is also committed to pro bono matters, and was recently named to the 2020 North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society.
Ms. Powell graduated from Clark University in 1991, and Brooklyn Law School in 1994 (cum laude) where she was an Executive Editor of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law, and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society.

She clerked for the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Honorable Harold A. Ackerman, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, and the Honorable Joan M. Azrack, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York. She served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York. She was previously associated with Kevin H. Marino, P.C. and Skadden LLP.
