Jerrold L. Steigman

Jerry Steigman represents individuals and companies in investigations, white-collar criminal prosecutions, and complex civil litigation. Jerry joined the firm following more than eight years as a state fraud and corruption prosecutor at the New York State Office of the Attorney General and the New York County District Attorney’s Office. Jerry was at the Attorney General’s Office for more than three years as a prosecutor in the Criminal Division’s Public Integrity Bureau. In that role, he investigated and prosecuted state and local government officials and their associates. For his work on one of those prosecutions, a long-term investigation into Queens not-for-profit entities, Jerry was awarded the Attorney General’s Louis J. Lefkowitz Memorial Award for outstanding performance.

Thereafter, Jerry was at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for five years as a prosecutor in the Investigation Division’s Racket’s Bureau. There, he investigated and prosecuted corruption in business and government, including in long-term eavesdropping investigations. One of those was an enterprise corruption investigation into companies delivering heating oil in New York City and its surrounding counties. That investigation led to the indictments of forty-four individuals and nine companies in Manhattan and others in Brooklyn. Jerry also tried four complex fraud cases in Manhattan Supreme Court, each of which had resulted from long-term investigations.

Prior to his service as a prosecutor, Jerry was an associate at Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Anello, PC, where he represented individuals and corporations in white-collar defense matters and civil litigation. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Joan M. Azrack of the Eastern District of New York.
